Did the world’s most famous supermodel spend time at KES?
YESTERDAY we reported how our resident archivist-turned-sleuth, BobChilds, was following up rumours that German supermodel Claudia Schiffer spent time at KES during a cultural exchange in the 1980s. Today we can reveal that in doing so he unearthed this photograph of one of those exchanges.
“I’m getting closer but she is not in this group (nor is Mike Fillenham!),” reports Bob, who tells us that Claudia was born in Rheinberg on August 25, 1970, and rose to fame after being talent-spotted in a nightclub in 1987. Since then she went on to break the world record for the most appearances on magazine front covers.
For Bob, the search is getting personal. His persistence in digging for the truth meant that last year he was able to prove that actor John Cleese had visited the school in Leicester where he taught for many years. This notable Old Lennensian says he would now love to prove the Schiffer link to be valid for KES!
SO… come on you former pupils of the 1980s. We need your help on this. Can you remember a certain blonde German student attending lessons at KES?
While it’s hardly likely that you’d have forgotten, we are including this photograph of the famous supermodel – just to jog your memory, you understand.
