I wish I could find those SCHOOL MAGAZINES!
Hopefully you will no longer need to look in the wardrobe, garage or risk the attic. After much hard work, lots of copying, emails and checking we have been able to post a complete set of The Lennensian covering the years 1945 to 1979. This is a remarkable resource made permanently accessible to all members. Those whose roots are pre-1980 should be able to follow their own footprint in them or that of their contemporaries. This set covers nearly four decades and we would encourage members to browse beyond their own years at K.E.S. Sometimes the OLA section at the back contains interesting information about an individual or an event.
Bob Childs happened to delve into the PDF for April 1954 and found on page 54 :’We hear that Mr John Branson, who taught science at one time in the school, has at the age of 72 a business with a £250,000 turn-over. He manufactures a gadget for holding a telephone and leaving the hands free…’ Perhaps Mr Branson would have made it onto a 1950s version of Dragons Den!
Note: In some of the earlier magazines you may find one or two pages on their side. You can use the rotate icon to read those pages.
