Which ex-KES pilot dropped a toilet roll “bomb” on his old school in 1949?
In doing some research to help [OLA president] Peter Jacobs I came across an unusual reference in the notes on School House for December 1949. On page 21 it states:
“[On] a certain Wednesday afternoon early in the term, two Spitfires dived low over the [school] field and one dropped a toilet requisite, much to the amusement of small boys returning from games. The article was found to bear the words SCHOOL HOUSE FOR EVER. It was learned later, as might be expected, that the pilot was a former member of the House.”
