The Savile Club in London was founded in 1868 and has occupied several different locations. The K.E.S. connection was started by the late John Turtle in 2007 and members have continued to hold a very convivial annual lunch.  After John’s passing in 2016 the lunch has been organised firstly by Tim Valentine and now by Barry Summerfield (1954-61).  The Club itself is very happy to continue to host OLA events or lunches.

On 8th February 2022 another enjoyable gathering was attended by some 28 members and their partners. Tim Valentine sent his apologies as he had to self-isolate and Jenny Turtle her best wishes and appreciation that the tradition of meeting there was to continue.  Most of the members had their K.E.S. roots in the 1950s but as a group covered the years 1952-1977.  There was considerable enthusiasm for the event and also a real appreciation for the extent and quality of the new website and the contingent growth in members.

There may well be support for a gathering this autumn and certainly for another lunch at the Savile Club in 2023!
