Shooting the Past was a highly acclaimed TV drama by Stephen Poliakoff first shown in 1999. It starred Timothy Spall determined to preserve a massive photographic collection in the face of an American corporate property developer.
The K.E.S. Photo Collection continues to grow and as promised we have now added 1960’s 1st XI team photographs for Hockey and Football. Our archivist Bob Childs has enjoyed looking at the football ones managed by Ken Gregory and identifying OLA members such as Alan Bland and Barry Chandler. We hope that you enjoy finding old friends on these new team photographs.
Poignantly the football teams from 1963 to 1969 were coached by John (Wally) Hammond who sadly died in December 2021. We intend to compose an obituary for him to appear in the next Newsletter. Members are invited to send in to us any memories or appreciations of John which we shall endeavour to include or incorporate.
